Adedamola Adefolahan, widely known as Fireboy DML, has shared that he turned down several offers from prominent artists and music industry figures before ultimately signing with rapper Olamide’s YBNL Nation in 2018.
The ‘Peru’ singer revealed this during a recent interview with Billboard News held in Los Angeles, explaining that he chose to accept Olamide’s deal because he believed it was the “right decision.”
“I rejected a couple of deals from big artists that wanted to sign me. But when Olamide came, I knew it was the right decision. And that process has really helped me in making decisions going forward,” he said.
It’s worth noting that Fireboy DML joined YBNL Nation in 2018 and subsequently released his debut album, ‘Laughter, Tears and Goosebumps,’ the following year.
