Nigerian afrobeat artist, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has pledged a donation of 300 million Naira to orphanages across the country. Davido shared this information in a post on his X, formerly Twitter, handle on Tuesday. He further mentioned that he would provide details of the disbursement on Wednesday.
Davido, through his foundation, the David Adeleke Foundation, consistently contributes to orphanages annually.
He wrote, “I and my foundation pledge the sum of 300 million Naira to orphanages around Nigeria … as my yearly contribution to the Nation ❤️ .. details of disbursement tomorrow.”
This act of philanthropy is not a new practice for Davido, as he has previously supported foster homes in Nigeria. In November 2021, he donated N250 million to 292 orphanages to mark his 29th birthday, and in July 2023, he reportedly donated N237 million to over 400 orphanages in Nigeria.
