Bright Osayi-Samuel, a defender for the Super Eagles, has issued a caution to Ivory Coast in anticipation of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) final clash between both teams on Sunday.
Osayi-Samuel, potentially making his debut in a major final for the Super Eagles, remarked that breaking down Jose Peseiro’s men is a formidable challenge for opposing teams.
When asked if he was ready for the AFCON final after Nigeria defeated South Africa on Wednesday, Osayi-Samuel told reporters: “Of course we are ready; this is what we have been waiting for.
“Every game we have been playing, we are growing and growing, and it is very hard for teams to break us down.
“That is the main thing. If you can be very good in defense, then if you look at our strikers, our wingers, we are going to of course score.”
Osayi-Samuel has been given minutes in all the matches played by the Super Eagles at the 2023 AFCON except the quarter-final win against Angola.
