AFCON: They’ve some pain – Nigeria coach, Peseiro confirms two Super Eagles players injured

Nigeria’s Super Eagles head coach, Jose Peseiro, has verified that two players in his squad are currently dealing with injuries as they approach the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) quarter-final against Angola on Friday evening.

Peseiro identified the affected players as Bright Osayi-Samuel and Ahmed Musa, emphasizing that both are experiencing some discomfort. Despite acknowledging their physical challenges, the 63-year-old coach refrained from

ruling out Osayi-Samuel and Musa from participating in the crucial match against Angola scheduled for Friday.

Speaking with Channels Television’s English-based reporter Austin Okon Akpan, Peseiro said: “There is injury at this moment. Bright Osayi-Samuel and Ahmed Musa have some pain, but I think they will be ready for the match tomorrow [Friday].”

Osayi-Samuel has played for the Super Eagles at the AFCON, while Musa has been a non-playing substitute in four consecutive matches.
