INEC receives non-sensitive, sensitive materiels ahead of re-run election in Oyo

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Oyo State has taken delivery of both non-sensitive and sensitive materials in preparation for the upcoming re-run election scheduled for Saturday in Saki West state Constituency.

The materials, including ballot papers, result sheets, and replacement forms, were received at the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) branch in the Dugbe area of Ibadan amid heightened security. Representatives from major political parties, INEC administrative secretary, Mr Agboola Razaq, and other stakeholders were present during the material handover.

Dr Rahman Adeniran Tella, the Resident Electoral Commissioner in the state, disclosed that the Commission received six cartons of materials and would employ two BVAS machines along with two backups for the electoral exercise. Additionally, he mentioned that the Commissioner of Police in Oyo State, Hamzat Adebola, has assured the deployment of 182 police officers to ensure security during the election.
