Super Eagles head coach, Jose Peseiro, has issued a stern warning that any member of the squad found violating his rules will face expulsion from the team’s camp.
Assigned the target of reaching the tournament’s semi-final by the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Peseiro is enforcing strict discipline ahead of Friday’s quarter-final clash against Angola.
Some of the established rules include punctuality for team meetings and a ban on picking phone calls during these sessions. Players are also required to adhere to team curfews, with a bedtime set at 11 pm, and no female visitors are permitted.
The players are now secluded on the fourth floor of the Pullman Hotel in Abidjan, with the team’s chief security officer maintaining thorough surveillance.
“Peseiro has gone tough on the players. He warned that he will not hesitate to expel any player who flouts camp rules as they stay on course to win the AFCON.
“The man is just a game away from reaching the target the NFF set for him to get a new contract and as such he is not smiling or joking,” a source told SCORENigeria.
