NIN: Nigerian govt announces distribution of computers to boost enrollment nationwide

The National Identity Management Commission (NIMC), acting on behalf of the federal government, has declared the allocation of more computer systems to enhance the enrollment process for the National Identification Number (NIN).

In a statement released on Wednesday, Kayode Adegoke, the Head of Corporate Communications at NIMC, conveyed that the Director-General/Chief Executive Officer, Abisoye Odusote-Coker, sanctioned the distribution of additional enrollment systems across all states.

Adegoke highlighted that the nationwide deployment of these systems is a strategic move to alleviate challenges associated with NIN enrollment and to enhance operational capabilities.

Odusote-Coker emphasized a zero-tolerance policy for any staff found engaging in extortion of applicants. She directed that any such personnel would face appropriate disciplinary measures in accordance with the constitution and existing Public Service Rules.“The provision of additional enrolment devices underscores the commitment of the DG/CEO to streamline operations and enhance overall effectiveness.

“The systems have since been installed and in use across all the states and have not only resulted in reduced time spent by applicants but have also increased the number of applicants attended to daily.

“Engr Abisoye Coker-Odusote has also sent out monitoring and evaluation teams across various centers nationwide to ensure the smooth running of enrollment and modification exercises.

“The team will also strictly comply with her zero-tolerance stance against extortion and unethical practices”, the statement reads.
