Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello, on Friday, conferred the staff of office upon the 4th Maigari of Lokoja, Alhaji Ibrahim Gambo Kabir Maikarfi, and the Mayaki of Kupa, Dauda Kabir Isa.
During the ceremony, Bello encouraged the traditional rulers to extend the cooperation they offered during his tenure to his successor, Ahmed Usman Ododo. Reflecting on his administration, Bello highlighted the peaceful installation of seven traditional rulers within his eight years in office.
In response, the new Maigari of Lokoja expressed gratitude to the state government and the people for realizing their appointments. He assured that they would uphold the trust placed in them and emphasized their commitment to prioritizing peace, education, and tourism development during their reign.
The event drew the participation of numerous traditional rulers, title holders, and members of various segments of the population.
