AFCON: Every country afraid of Nigeria’s Super Eagles – Kanu

Former Super Eagles captain, Nwankwo Kanu, has asserted that every nation participating in the ongoing 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) harbors apprehension toward Nigeria.

Kanu made this statement following the Super Eagles’ 1-0 victory over Ivory Coast in a Group A match on Thursday. Captain William Troost-Ekong’s penalty goal secured all three points for Nigeria at the Stade Olympique Ouattara.

As a result of the win, Nigeria now holds the second position in Group A with four points from two games, while Ivory Coast is in third place with three points from two matches.

The Super Eagles will proceed to face Guinea-Bissau in their final Group game on Monday.

Reacting, Kanu in a tweet via his X account, wrote: “KANU BELIEVE IT congratulations. Every country is afraid of our dear super eagles so let’s believe we can do it.

“WELL DONE BOYS AND WELL DONE THE COACHING CREW and thanks to all that supported and pray for us @ng_supereagles #africa.”
