Amid the controversies surrounding the late Synagogue Church of All Nations (SCOAN) founder, TB Joshua, spotlighted in a British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) report, Multichoice DStv has announced the discontinuation of the broadcast of Emmanuel TV, the religious TV network established by the deceased clergyman, on channel 390.
The discontinuation is set to take effect from January 17th, 2024, as indicated in the on-screen notification.
A notice displayed on DStv screens relayed: “Dear viewer, please note that Emmanuel TV will exit on the 17th of January 2024. Thank you for watching.”
Apart from severing ties with MultiChoice, reports suggest Emmanuel TV will cease airing on StarSat and other pay-TV platforms.
These decisions coincide with the aftermath of a controversial three-part documentary crafted by the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC). The documentary alleged instances of misconduct, including purported atrocities and sexual crimes involving the late TB Joshua and his followers.
According to Iwitnesslive, BBC conducted an extensive investigation into the late preacher and his church, gathering insights from around 30 alleged former SCOAN members and employees.
