The Lagos State Police Command has acknowledged receiving a petition from Afrobeats artist Tiwa Savage against her colleague Davido, citing alleged bullying and threats to her life.
According to The Nation, the ‘Stamina’ singer outlined in the petition, which circulated online, that Davido had used disrespectful language in response to a post involving herself and the singer’s first baby mama, Sophia Momodu.
Tiwa Savage detailed her disappointment regarding Davido’s threatening remarks and reminded him of her unwavering support for his family, especially during the loss of his son, Ifeanyi.
Additionally, she mentioned receiving inquiries from mutual connections, probing into her actions that might have provoked Davido. There were also queries about her relationship with Sophia.
Responding to an inquiry by PUNCH on Tuesday, Benjamin Hundeyin, the Lagos Police Public Relations Officer, confirmed that an investigation into the allegations had commenced.
He said: “I can confirm to you that we have received the petition, and investigation has commenced.”
