The Super Eagles will be without their influential midfielder, Wilfred Ndidi, for the 2023 African Cup of Nations as the Leicester City midfielder is ruled out of the tournament after suffering an injury just days before the start of the competition.
Ndidi was included in Jose Peseiro’s squad for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, and he would have played an important part for the team in their challenge for the fourth title, but he has now suffered an injury that will keep him out of action for weeks.
The defensive midfielder is one of the best in Africa and is also one of the most experienced players in the Super Eagles, having played at the World Cup and the Nations Cup, but he has now been replaced in the squad by Antwerp midfielder Alhassan Yusuf.
