Niger State Governor Mohammed Umar Bago expressed condolences to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the loss of Ondo State Governor Rotimi Akeredolu. During his visit to the President in Lagos State, Bago praised Akeredolu as a committed politician, acknowledging his pivotal role in advancing the All Progressives Congress (APC) and commending his dedication to effective leadership in Ondo State.
Addressing journalists afterward, Governor Bago highlighted his administration’s agricultural initiatives, detailing plans to prepare over one million hectares of land for rice, sesame, cotton, and maize cultivation to meet the increased demand from poultry farmers.
Touching on the recent crisis in Plateau, Bago termed it unfortunate and announced plans for the North Central Governors Forum to offer condolences to their Plateau State counterpart.
He added,” I want to stress the importance of strategic discussions on such matters, advocating for open dialogue to address issues and ensure the voices of the people are heard.”
Accompanying the governor during the visit were notable stakeholders from the state, including former Minister of Sport Sani Ndanusa, immediate past Deputy Governor Ahmed Ketso, Sen. Mustapha Sani, House of Representatives member Saidu Musa Abdul representing Bida/Gbako/Katcha federal constituency, and Lado Suleja, among others.
