Ademola Lookman is confident in Atalanta’s capacity to manage without him during his absence for the Africa Cup of Nations.
Securing the winning goal for La Dea in their 1-0 triumph against Leece on Saturday, the 26-year-old is set to join his national team for AFCON 2023 preparations.
Scheduled to commence their camp in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates on January 2, 2024, the Super Eagles’ participation could see Lookman missing around six games for Gian Piero Gasperini’s team if Nigeria progresses to the final in Cote d’Ivoire.
Expressing faith in his Atalanta teammates, Lookman believes they will perform capably in his absence.
‘We have a good team, with strong players.
“I will go to the African Cup but my teammates will do an excellent job, I have faith in them. Will I miss Bergamo? Yes, I can’t wait to come back here,” he was quoted by Tuttomercatoweb.
