Police arrest 6 suspected animal rustlers, burglars in Jigawa

Six individuals have been apprehended by the Jigawa Police Command for their alleged involvement in animal rustling and burglary in Kiyawa Local Government Area. The arrests, conducted by a patrol team, resulted in the capture of four suspects in possession of stolen sheep in Kiyawa town.

The suspected rustlers, identified as Garba Abubakar, Abdullahi Alhaji, and Musa Ruwa from Bauchi State, were found with the pilfered sheep. Additionally, two other individuals, Ibrahim Rabiu and Musa Sani from Kiyawa LGA, were seized with 10 roofing sheets and a drum believed to be stolen items.

During questioning, three of the rustlers admitted to taking the four sheep from Kirisamma LGA, while the remaining pair confessed to stealing the roofing sheets and drum from Ramat Nursery and Primary School in Kiyawa LGA.

Efforts are underway by the police to locate the rightful owner of the sheep, while the roofing sheets and drum have already been returned to their respective owner. The suspects are slated to face legal charges soon.
