Governor Bassey Otu of Cross River State has sanctioned a 14-day Christmas break for all state civil servants, effective from December 20. This decision, disclosed by the Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Emmanuel Ogbeche, via a statement in Calabar on Wednesday, excludes those engaged in essential services.
Titled “Extended Holiday for Civil Servants,” the statement praised the dedication and diligence of the workers. Governor Otu encouraged them to utilize this time to bond with their families and actively participate in the annual Calabar carnival.
Reaffirming his administration’s commitment to fostering a conducive environment for all residents, Governor Otu extended warm wishes for a Merry Christmas and a Prosperous New Year.
The civil servants are anticipated to resume duties on January 3, 2024.
