Tension in Delta polytechnic over killing of undergraduate by landlord

Tension is escalating at Delta State Polytechnic, Otefe-Oghara, following the alleged shooting of an undergraduate by a landlord, Mr. Ajari Ajaska Felix.

Reportedly, students at the institution are dismayed by the lack of arrest of the suspect, who reportedly vanished with his family a week after the incident.

The victim, Ishie Abraham, was in his final year, pursuing a degree in Computer Science.

Delta State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Bright Edafe, confirmed the incident, stating that an extensive investigation is underway.

Meanwhile, the Student Union Government (SUG) of the polytechnic has appealed for calm among the student body.

In a joint statement signed by the SUG President, Comr. Jagboro Champion, and Secretary General, Comr. Oweiotu-Ebi Oyinkare-Ebi Joseph, urged students and the public to exercise patience.

While condemning the tragic incident, both the SUG and the institution’s management assured collaboration with security agencies to address the issue.

“Measures have been put in place to make sure that the culprit does not go unpunished as he has been declared wanted. We enjoin all students to stay calm as the situation is currently under control,” the SUG stated.
