Peter Obi, the former presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), has revealed that he has been facing threats after turning down substantial offers.
The ex-governor of Anambra State emphasized his unwavering commitment and readiness to endure any challenges that come his way.
Obi refrained from disclosing the specific details or the identities of individuals or groups responsible for the intimidating offers. The threats, according to him, have surfaced due to his principled stand in rejecting what he referred to as “mind-blowing” propositions.
Speaking as a guest on X Space, hosted by “ParallelFacts,” Obi reiterated his fearlessness in the face of adversity. He underlined his readiness to withstand any form of pressure, emphasizing that his commitment to the right path outweighs any concerns about personal safety or well-being.
While shedding light on the offers, Peter Obi opted to keep the identity of the individuals or entities making the propositions confidential. This decision raises questions about the nature and magnitude of the offers that have led to such intense reactions.
Throughout the interview, Obi consistently emphasized his refusal to be swayed by external pressures. His commitment to upholding ethical standards and staying true to his principles remains unshaken, even in the face of undisclosed threats.
“I can tell you the offers that I get today is mind-blowing. On the other way round, for refusing the offer, what they want to do to me is also very frightening. But I am ready to go through anything.
“As I keep telling people, when they say, ‘Peter you’re putting your life in danger’, if I die at sixty-something, I did not die a young person. Some people died in their twenties, thirties and forties. And I have kids who are now graduates and doing their own things.
“If I go today it’s fair enough; as long as I don’t deviate from these things that I said from the day I decided to get in government.
“I will always be on the right path,” he said.
