The Lagos State Police Command has welcomed a new Commissioner of Police. Fayoade Adegoke Mustapha is set to assume the position, succeeding Idowu Owohunwa, who recently attained the rank of Assistant Inspector-General of Police.
This information about Fayoade’s posting was conveyed through a police wireless message obtained by The PUNCH on Tuesday. The message, dated December 11, 2023, marked TH.5361/FS/FHQ/ABJ/T.5/103, was signed by the Nigeria Police Force Secretary on behalf of the Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun. It stressed that the posting is effective immediately.
Lagos State Police spokesman, Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed Fayoade’s deployment to the Lagos command. Hundeyin mentioned that the new Commissioner of Police is expected to assume duty, likely from Wednesday onward.
