A fatal auto crash on the well-known Lagos-Ibadan Expressway has claimed the lives of no fewer than 10 individuals. The tragic incident unfolded around 5 am on Tuesday, near the Kara Turning, close to the Interchange section of the highway.
Florence Okpe, the spokesperson for the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) Command in Ogun State, confirmed this development to Channels TV. She verified that the collision involved two vehicles: an ash-colored Toyota Hiace Bus with plate number FKY898YF and an orange-colored Iveco Truck Tipper, resulting in casualties.
Reports indicate that seven other individuals sustained injuries in the crash. They have been promptly transported to Famobis Hospital for urgent medical attention. Sadly, the deceased victims have been transported to the Idera Morgue in Sagamu.
“The Sector Commander, Anthony Uga was pained over the fatal crash that could have been avoided if necessary caution was put in place.
“He also emphasized that drivers should endeavor to take a 15-minute rest for every four-hour drive because fatigue has been a major cause of road traffic crashes”, Okpe added.
