Prince Abdulfatai Adebayo Adeyemi, affectionately known as D-GOV and son of the late Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi, has died.
The demise occurred in the early hours of Friday at the University College Hospital (UCH) in Ibadan where the late Princ succumbed to diabetes.
The late Prince, who contested on the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) ticket in the 2019 House of Representatives election for Oyo federal constituency, faced electoral defeat against his brother, Prince Akeem Adeyemi. The latter secured re-election for a second term, representing the All Progressive Congress (APC).
Beyond his political endeavors, Prince Abdulfatai Adebayo Adeyemi served the community in various capacities. Governor Seyi Makinde appointed him as the Chairman of the Oyo State Local Government Pension Board during the Omituntun 1.0 administration.
