Prince Abdulfatai Adebayo Adeyemi, son of the late Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi, has reportedly passed away. Known popularly as D-GOV, he succumbed to diabetes at the University College Hospital (UCH) in Ibadan during the early hours of Friday, as reported by The Nation.
In the 2019 House of Representatives election in Oyo federal constituency, he stood as the candidate for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) but was defeated by his brother, Prince Akeem Adeyemi, who secured a second term under the All Progressive Congress (APC).
During the Omituntun 1.0 administration, the late Prince was appointed by Governor Seyi Makinde as the Chairman of the Oyo State Local Government Pension Board.
