Avoid get-rich-quick syndrome – DG advises NYSC members

The Director General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Brigadier General Yushau Dogara Ahmed, advised the 2023 Batch ‘C’ Stream Two members during their orientation at the Nasarawa State Orientation Camp in Magaji Dan Yamusa, Keffi. He emphasized the importance of diligence at work and the virtue of patience in achieving success.

Ahmed cautioned against succumbing to the allure of quick wealth and engaging in social vices that could detrimentally impact their future. Encouraging them to represent their families, academic institutions, and the NYSC positively, he urged the corps members to serve their country with distinction.

Alhaji Abdullahi Jikamshi, the NYSC Nasarawa State Coordinator, reported to the Director General that a cohesive team of 375 camp officials is working collaboratively to meet the Orientation Course’s objectives. He highlighted the active involvement of all 2,139 registered corps members in various camp activities.

“Be of good character throughout your service year and if it becomes very necessary for you to travel, make sure you obtain permission from the NYSC.

“Try to respect other people’s opinions and make good friends while in camp. Also, respect the cultural beliefs of your host communities when you pass out from the camp,” the DG said.
