Local vigilantes in Tunga village in Bunza Local Government Area, Kebbi State killed a notorious kidnapper called Dogo Oro on Friday.
Ahmed Idris, the Chief Press Secretary to the Kebbi State Governor, confirmed this in a statement.
According to Idris, Oro was known for launching attacks in surrounding villages with sporadic shooting using bows and arrows.
He had carried out several kidnappings in Bunza and Kalgo local government areas and had demanded ransom for his victims’ release.
Idris commended the vigilantes for their efforts and support to other security operatives. He also appreciated the state Governor, Nasir Idris, for his efforts in ensuring that security challenges in some council areas of the state are critically addressed.
With the successful operation by the local vigilantes, the safety of the residents of the communities is now guaranteed, and they can go about their normal business activities without fear. Idris promised
