Thierry Henry, an Arsenal icon, has highlighted the significance of Gabriel Jesus as a key player within the Gunners’ team.
Jesus showcased his importance by scoring a goal during Arsenal’s recent commanding 6-0 victory over Lens in the Champions League mid-week fixture.
The Brazilian forward made an impactful contribution by nodding a header into the six-yard box from a Takehiro Tomiyasu cross, setting up Kai Havertz to break the deadlock in the 13th minute. Shortly after, the former Manchester City star found the net himself, doubling Arsenal’s advantage eight minutes later.
“I just love this. He [Gabriel Jesus] did it against Manchester United, I don’t know if you remember on the break,” Henry told CBS Sports (via HITC).
“Everyone thought he was going to shoot there. Watch how he does it. Oops, chops and goes back. Gabriel Jesus is a very important player for us.
“Will he ever score 20-25? I hope so. But what he does in general, it’s just great for us.”
