Ekwunife Seeks Establishment Of Chinese Visa Center In S'East

Director General  Governor’s Forum South East, Senator Uche Ekwunife has called on the Chinese government to establish a Chinese Visa Center In any of the states in the South East.

Ekwunife further advocated for the establishment of a Solar Farm for the manufacturing of  Solar power in the area.

Ekwunife stressed the importance of removing these encumbrances in the visa application process emphasizing the  need for an   efficient system to facilitate easier access for South East businessmen to China .

On the Solar Farm, Ekwunife said that: “The potential establishment of a solar farm and the manufacturing of solar panels in the South East region emerged as a focal point of discussion, with the aim of expanding the market and promoting sustainable energy solution.”

Similar  highpoints at the meeting was also the  emphasis  on  the crucial need  for the transfer of knowledge expertise, and technology in  partnership between China and the South East Governor’s Forum.

 She highlighted the importance of not only importing products and machinery but also learning and acquiring the skills and expertize necessary for sustainable development and growth in the region.

 According to the Director General: “Exchange of technological know-how and expertise would not only enhance the productivity and efficiency of Industries but also contribute to the overall development of the South East region.

The Chinese Ambassador, in response to these critical issues, affirmed the importance of the visa policy review and expressed the Chinese government’s willingness to consider from notable bodies and organizations  in Nigeria.

He  assured the Director General of the Chinese government’s commitment to provide an alternative to this problem to help cushion those effects

Sealing all issues raised, on the 29th of November  a  followup meeting was held between the Director General and Executives of the China-Africa Economic and Trade Promotion Council, deliberations and in-depth discussions were made on the critical areas as raised during the previous meetings.

The meeting was a success as plans, and further deliberations are underway for the finalization of this partnership in seeing to the economic growth and development of the South East region of Nigeria.
