Peoples Democratic Party’s gubernatorial candidate for Kogi State, Senator Dino Melaye, stated that he will not contest the victory of the All Progressives Congress at the state election petition tribunal.
Following the declaration by the Independent National Electoral Commission of the APC candidate, Usman Ododo, as the winner of the November 11 gubernatorial election, Melaye, who placed third, made claims on Wednesday. He alleged that the judiciary no longer operates independently but functions as a department within the APC.
Dino stated, “Judiciary is no longer the last hope of the ordinary people, it is now a department under the All Progressives Congress. Why should any responsible person go to the tribunal when the APC has captured the judiciary?
“I have lost complete confidence in the judiciary.”
