Governor Peter Mbah of Enugu State has appealed for federal support in developing a cargo terminal and completing the International Wing of the Akanu Ibiam International Airport. He made this request while addressing journalists at the Presidential Villa in Abuja on Wednesday.
Mbah clarified that the State Government and Federal Government are collaborating to finalize the construction of the cargo terminal and the international wing of the Akanu Ibiam International Airport in Enugu.
Highlighting Enugu as a secure destination for investor ventures, the governor emphasized the state’s investment-friendly environment.
Commending Tinunu’s economic strategies, Mbah highlighted their positive impact on attracting foreign direct investment (FDI). He noted that the policy of unified foreign exchange rates was beneficial in Enugu’s FDI drive.
However, the governor acknowledged that certain federal economic initiatives, such as the removal of fuel subsidies, posed immediate challenges for individuals.
“Mbah described those policies as bold therapies for the nation’s troubled economy and would greatly benefit the citizens ultimately.
“I commend the president because a lot of things that he is doing at the national level are also rubbing off well on us at the state level.
“Policies like the unification of the foreign exchange rate means that you are going to have a lot of FDI coming in, and we are also going to benefit from that.”
