Teniola Apata, the renowned Nigerian singer known as Teni, has strongly criticized Nigerians for targeting Davido over a remark made about her.
Davido, during one of Teni’s visits to his residence, referred to her as ‘my younger sister,’ prompting a backlash from many netizens despite both artists being of similar age.
Addressing this uproar during an interview on the Zero Conditions podcast, Teni clarified that she holds no ill feelings towards Davido’s choice of words.
Expressing her disbelief at the critics, Teni used the example of her driver addressing her as ‘madam’ despite being older than her to challenge the sensibility of those who found fault in Davido’s terminology.
“I don’t care if Davido and I are the same age, I can call him whatever I like. He recorded a song with me and he was very patient”- Teni
