Chelsea are bidding to sign Super Eagles striker Victor Boniface from Bayer Leverkusen in the January transfer window if the deal for their prime target, Victor Osimhen, does not materialise.
Chelsea are desperate to land Osimhen in January, with reports suggesting that the deal for the Napoli forward could be concluded before the end of the African Cup of Nations in February next year.
However, Blues Manager Mauricio Pochettino has a plan B that includes Boniface as he looks to salvage the season.
The Nigerian international has hit a form slump but is on Chelsea’s radar, says the Mirror.
The 22-year-old has 11 goals in 17 appearances for Bayer this season.
Big European sides, including Barcelona and Tottenham, have been linked with the striker.
