The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) has identified Abaji, Bwari, and Kuje as the area councils most affected by kidnapping incidents. Ebele Molokwu, the Director of Administration and Finance at FCTA’s Security Services Department, revealed this during a year-end media briefing on the department’s activities.
Molokwu highlighted that these councils frequently experienced significant kidnapping cases within the territory. She mentioned, however, that there have been occasional isolated incidents in other area councils as well.
Explaining further, Molokwu noted that these councils share borders with states known for high incidents of kidnapping. She emphasized that when bandits strike, they often retreat to these neighboring states.
The administration is strongly committed to combating both kidnapping and one-chance syndicates operating within the territory, Molokwu assured.
Adamu Gwary, the Director of the Department, added that the security committee has been split into two parts: the kinetic, composed of core security agencies, and the non-kinetic, involving traditional rulers and other pertinent stakeholders.
