Fire Razes Kabba Central Market In Kogi State, Destroys Goods, Property

A fire broke out in some parts of Kabba Central Market located in Kogi State early on Monday morning.
The fire rapidly spread through the market, destroying goods and properties worth millions of Naira.

Despite the efforts of some sympathizers who were seen at the scene combating the inferno, the intensity of the fire made containment very difficult. Eyewitnesses disclosed that shop owners were helpless as they watched their goods and wares succumb to the flames.

The market, which is known for its diverse array of goods, ranging from fresh farm produce to textiles and electronics, now stands in ruins.

However, authorities are investigating the cause of the fire to determine whether it was as a result of electrical fault, negligence, or any other factor.

Meanwhile, residents of Kabba have criticized the absence of fire-fighting equipment in the market that would have been helpful in putting out the flames.
