Edo 2024: Nobody can stop me – Shuaibu

Edo State’s Deputy Governor, Philip Shuaibu, boldly declared his intent to contest for the governorship under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) banner in the upcoming 2024 election, emphasizing that no force can hinder his aspiration.

Addressing supporters at the Bishop Kelly Centre in Benin, he portrayed himself as a native son attuned to the struggles of the people. Shuaibu urged both the electorate and party members to rally behind his vision.

With three decades in politics and a seven-year collaboration with Governor Godwin Obaseki in revitalizing the state, Shuaibu asserted his readiness to succeed his mentor.

“Nobody can stop my ambition,” he firmly declared.

Should he clinch the governorship in the 2024 polls — confirmed by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for September 21 — Shuaibu pledged a commitment to pragmatic governance, vowing to deliver tangible progress for the state.
