Kano: Police issue fresh warning to APC, NNPP

The Kano State Police command has reiterated its cautionary message regarding the planned rally by the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP).

Commissioner of Police Mr. Hussaini Gumel conveyed this during a telephone interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Friday in Kano.

Gumel emphasized that the command has initiated extensive patrols within and around the city to uphold law and order.

He confirmed the deployment of armed security personnel to key areas across the state, prepared to address any potential security challenges.

“As far as this command is concerned, we have not permitted the two major political parties to engage in any form of protest in our areas of supervision,” he said.

He encouraged the populace to engage in their lawful activities without apprehension of any form of harassment.

Emphasizing the collaborative efforts of the police and allied security agencies, he assured the public of their commitment to ensuring ample security for lives and property in the state.

Addressing the leaders of both parties, he urged them to honor the peace agreements they had previously endorsed.

Additionally, he urged parents to closely monitor their children’s activities, warning that anyone found disturbing the peace would face detention and legal prosecution.
