FG reiterates commitment to Police reforms

The Federal Government has restated its dedication to spearheading reforms aimed at empowering the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) to deliver efficient services to Nigerians.

Hajia Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim, the Minister of State for Police Affairs, reaffirmed this commitment during a courtesy visit by Engineer Abdullahi Sule, the Governor of Nasarawa State, to the Ministry’s headquarters in Abuja on Wednesday.

As per a statement released by Bolaji Kazeem, the Deputy Director of Press, Sulaiman-Ibrahim highlighted that President Bola Tinubu has entrusted the Ministry with a pivotal mandate to drive police reforms for the purpose of fostering effective law enforcement across the country.

She said: “Nothing happens until the Nigeria Police Force works effectively. We aligned with Mr President’s mantra of ‘we are open for business’ and drive to attract both local and foreign investors.

“This required police reforms that would protect the lives and property of everyone in the country.

“I can assure you of the commitment of the Ministry to ensure reforms of the police in this present administration.”

The Minister noted that the visit by Governor Sule was symbolic and encouraging, noting that with the cooperation and support of the stakeholders, the Ministry would achieve its mandate.
