Nigerian singer Okafor Uchenna Victor, popularly known as Mr Real, has accused rapper Idowest of song theft.
Mr Real alleges that the owner of Mafia Music took his hit song ‘Shekpeteri’ from a disc jockey, asserting that the track had already been recorded by a group of individuals before Idowest appropriated it, featuring Slimcase in his version.
According to Mr Real, Idowest’s avarice hindered him from making substantial profits from their collaborative song ‘Legbegbe,’ which attained widespread popularity.
In a circulating video message on social media, Mr Real expressed his grievances, stating, “Considering the popularity of our songs, we should have houses in Island; ‘Legbegbe’ was everywhere, ‘Shekpeteri’ was everywhere. But you [Idowest] didn’t allow us to make money because of your greed.”
“You are a greedy modaf**ker. Unfortunate fellow. Depression will kill you until you come and apologise to me and Slimcase.
“The popular ‘Shekpeteri’ song was originally owned by a DJ. They’ve done that song before; ‘Shekpeteri’ was done with some boys. He stole the song from the DJ and did a version with Slimcase. He has been stealing from the beginning of his career.”
