Gov Adeleke announces payment of salary arrears of Osun judicial workers

Ademola Adeleke, the governor of Osun State, has approved the payment of salary arrears to retiring judges in the state.

The state administration has stated its willingness to work with and assist both current and retiring judges.

In a statement, Olawale Rasheed, the spokesman for Governor Ademola Adeleke, apologized for the alleged negligence by past governments.

“I am not only committed to resolving such inherited salary matters, but I am also working to provide the necessary logistical support for serving judicial officers,” according to the statement. The court must be given the tools it needs to administer and adjudicate justice effectively.”

Adeleke reminded judicial officials that their safety was still a concern and asked the bar and the bench to stay focused and undistracted by agents of destabilization.

Governor Adeleke warned against the dissemination of fake news on social media, emphasizing that his administration has not attempted to gag the judiciary.

He addressed recent sponsored social media publications insinuating a strained relationship between the current administration and the state’s judiciary, stating, “The present Administration in Osun State has as its number one priority workers’ welfare, how much more the welfare of the judicial officers of the State, whether serving or retired.”
