Kaduna Electric Dismisses 39 Employees Over Fraud, Other Offenses

Kaduna Electric’s Head of Corporate Communication, Abdulazeez Abdullahi, revealed in a statement that the company terminated the employment of 39 staff members due to various breaches of company policies. Offenses included misappropriation of funds, fraudulent activities, unauthorized access, and absenteeism.

These violations contravened the recently approved revised employee conditions of service, supported by the company’s leadership, including two in-house labor unions and Managing Director Yusuf Yahaya. The company emphasized the detrimental impact of the dismissed employees’ actions on its operations, warranting these strict measures.

According to the statement,  the management seriously frowns at all manner of fraudulent activities perpetrated by staff members and would act decisively by punishing all those caught.

While hoping that the dismissal would serve as a deterrent to others, the company advised customers to desist from transacting any business conniving with fraudulent persons to shortchange the company as this hampers its ability to meet its obligations to the electricity market.

The statement partly reads, “We call on our esteemed customers to promptly report any fraudulent act exhibited by our customers.
“We need the support of our consumers to weed out the bad eggs among us so that we can provide the necessary services to our esteemed customers in our franchise states.”
