Kaduna Electric’s management has made an official announcement regarding the termination of the employment of 39 staff members due to various violations of the company’s policies.
These offenses encompassed actions such as the misappropriation of company funds, engaging in fraudulent practices, unauthorized access, and absconding from their duties.
In a statement released on Monday in Kaduna, the Head of Corporate Communication for the company, Abdulazeez Abdullahi, explained that these actions were in clear violation of the recently ratified employee conditions of service, which received approval from both in-house labor unions and the management, led by Managing Director Yusuf Yahaya.
The statement further noted that the behavior of the terminated staff members had negative consequences for the company’s overall performance, necessitating this action.
The company’s management strongly disapproves of any fraudulent activities carried out by its staff and is committed to taking decisive measures against those who engage in such activities.
The hope is that this dismissal will serve as a deterrent to others. The company also advised its customers to avoid engaging in any transactions with individuals involved in fraudulent activities, as this negatively affects the company’s ability to meet its obligations in the electricity market.
The statement partly reads, “We call on our esteemed customers to promptly report any fraudulent act exhibited by our customers.
“We need the support of our consumers to weed out the bad eggs among us so that we can provide the necessary services to our esteemed customers in our franchise states.”
