Defender Nathan Collins made his mark by scoring his inaugural goal for Brentford, securing a remarkable comeback victory against West Ham in a thrilling match at Gtech Community Stadium.
In a contest filled with goals on a chilly and rainy afternoon in western London, Neal Maupay initiated the scoring for the hosts early on. He volleyed the ball past Alphonse Areola after West Ham failed to clear their defensive lines.
However, the Irons swiftly responded with two rapid-fire goals courtesy of Mohammed Kudus and Jarrod Bowen, allowing them to take the lead as they entered halftime.
Brentford displayed their determination after the break and managed to overturn the game once more. An own goal by West Ham’s defender Konstantinos Mavropanos leveled the score, and then Nathan Collins leaped the highest to connect with Mathias Jensen’s cross, securing the decisive goal.
This victory marks Brentford’s third consecutive win, propelling them up one spot to ninth in the standings. Meanwhile, West Ham, who have failed to secure a victory in their last four Premier League games, find themselves in 11th place.
