Just In: Tinubu Excludes Jide Jimoh from FCSC Nomination Roster

President Bola Tinubu has decided to withdraw the nomination of Jide Jimoh, a former House of Representatives member, as the representative for Lagos/Ogun States in the Federal Civil Service Commission (FCSC).

Jide Jimoh, in a brief message to his supporters, confirmed that his name has been substituted.

Earlier, on October 27, WesternPost had reported that President Tinubu had approved Jimoh’s appointment, along with 11 other individuals, to serve on the federal civil service commission, pending confirmation by the Nigerian Senate.

However, right after the nomination was announced, a group of Lagos natives, operating under the banner of Omo Eko Pataki, rejected Jimoh’s nomination, citing his non-indigene status in the state.

In a statement released last Saturday by one of its Trustees, Major General Tajudeen Olanrewaju (Retired), Omo Eko Pataki revealed that Jimoh hails from Kwara State and therefore lacks the eligibility to represent Lagos/Ogun in the Commission.

The group also pointed out that a similar anomaly occurred in the nomination of Mrs. Ade-John as a full-fledged Ministerial appointee, which filled a vacancy constitutionally designated for Lagos State.

“Mr. President Tinubu must hear this: Remove Jimoh…….from the Federal Civil Service Commission.

“Omoeko Pataki has objection to the nomination of Mr Jimoh as a Representative of Lagos-Ogun States. Mr. President, why should a non – indigene from Lagos State be nominated to occupy a Constitutionally guaranteed position of Lagos State to a Kwara indigene.

” This aberration was also observed in the nomination of Mrs Ade-John as a full-fledged Ministerial appointee, filling a vacancy Constitutionally allotted to Lagos State. This is totally wrong, unjust, and a grave injustice to the true indigenes of the State.

” Mr. President, we, OMOEKO Pataki, feel that a stamp of continuous robbing Peter to pay Paul should be discontinued for real. We appeal to you, Sir, to urgently redress the wrong being done to your State. Your Excellency, Lagos State, can not continue to suffer from what belongs to it”, said Olanrewaju.
