A statement from the National Coordinator, Adelowo Oluwasesan, of the Asiwaju Tinubu Mandate Forum on Monday accused certain politicians of orchestrating a campaign to tarnish the image of Femi Gbajabiamila, Chief of Staff to the President.
The group alleged that these politicians, being driven by their interests, were attempting to disrupt President Bola Tinubu’s administration by fueling negative propaganda and staging protests against Gbajabiamila. The group suggested that these efforts were part of a larger agenda against key administration policies like subsidy removal, tax reform, and currency rate unification.
“While we acknowledge the right of citizens to a peaceful protest, we condemned in totality the one sponsored to bring down a man who has been a stabilizing factor to the current administration of Bola Tinubu and the renewed hope agenda of the ruling party” the statement read.
The group also called on security agencies to monitor the situation closely in a bid to avoid civil unrest.
“We emphasize that groups or persons who engage in actions that could lead to civil unrest or destruction of properties should not be spared, and the full wrath of the law should be applied accordingly.”
