Chelsea has expressed interest in Napoli’s Victor Osimhen as a potential addition during the January transfer window. Osimhen, who has been in fine form for Napoli, scoring six goals in 10 games, is under Chelsea’s watchful eye. It’s uncertain whether Chelsea will make a formal bid in January, as Napoli is likely to demand around £120 million for the striker.
Osimhen’s contract negotiations with Napoli have hit a roadblock, stemming from a controversial social media incident where Napoli appeared to mock the player after he missed a penalty in a recent game. This incident led to condemnation from Osimhen’s agent, Roberto Calenda, and a formal apology from Napoli.
Despite Chelsea’s significant spending in the summer, the team has experienced difficulties in scoring goals, with only Nicolas Jackson and Armando Broja leading the attack. Alongside Osimhen, Chelsea is also monitoring Brentford’s Ivan Toney, who is attracting interest from Arsenal.
