The Governorship Election Petitions Tribunal in Umuahia has dismissed two motions filed by the petitioner, Chief Okey Ahiwe of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), against Governor Alex Otti of the Labour Party. The dismissed motions were considered incompetent.
The issues that were struck out included the petitioner’s attempt to introduce new matters and the repetition of certain claims. However, the panel is currently in the process of delivering its judgment to address the entire petition, which also includes the petition filed by High Chief Ikechi Emenike of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
