President Bola Tinubu has designated Tope Fasua, the Chief Executive Officer of Global Analytics Consulting, to serve as the Special Adviser on Economic Affairs within the Vice President’s office.
Fasua revealed his appointment through his verified X handle on Friday evening.
“So, I’ve been appointed as the Special Adviser on Economic Affairs to the President in the Vice President’s office. This is precisely the role I aspired to, for the sake of national impact. We express gratitude to the Almighty and those who advocated for my appointment. For the love of God and country,” Mr. Fasua announced.
Mr. Fasua, a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN), pursued his economics studies at Ondo State University, where he graduated as the top student in 1991.
He obtained his second degree in Financial Markets and derivatives from the London Metropolitan University in the United Kingdom. Commencing his career in 1992 with the now-defunct Citizens Bank, he subsequently held roles at Standard Trust Bank and Equatorial Trust Bank, where he climbed the ranks to become Principal Manager/Regional Director in Abuja.
Boasting a Ph.D. in public administration and completing executive education programs at the London Business School and Harvard University, Mr. Fasua is a frequent commentator on television, specializing in economics and financial markets analysis.
In 2016, he spearheaded the formation of a political party called the Abundant Nigeria Renewal Party and emerged as the party’s presidential candidate in the 2019 general elections.
Among his accomplishments, Mr. Fasua is also an accomplished author, having penned several books, including “Crushed” and “Things to Do Before Your Career Disappears.”
