Just In: Veteran set designer Pat Nebo dies

Renowned art director and production designer, Pat Nebo, has sadly passed away. While details surrounding his death remain limited, the news was confirmed by entertainment journalist and lecturer, Shaibu Husseini. Pat Nebo’s contribution to the entertainment industry will be remembered and celebrated by many in the field.

The post read: “I have been reliably informed that foremost Nigerian Production Designer, Pat Nebo is dead. He has been bedridden for a while now. Journey well master of the craft of production design.”

Pat Nebo had a remarkable career spanning approximately 30 years in the Nigerian film industry. He was widely recognized for his expertise in production and set design, and his contribution to the industry was invaluable.

Throughout his career, Nebo was known for his meticulous attention to detail in creating realistic sets. He began his journey in 1993 as a production designer for ‘Ti Oluwa Nile’ and continued to work on two sequels in the same year, ‘Ti Oluwa ni Ile’.

In 2009, he ventured into cinema with a role in ‘The Figurine as the ‘Marriage Registrar’. He also appeared in the 2016 movie ’76’ as Colonel Ali. Nebo’s talents extended to production design, and he contributed to various films, including ‘Araromire’, ‘Arugba’, ‘Alero’s Symphony’, ‘October 1’, ‘Being Mrs. Elliot’, ‘The Milkmaid’, ‘Lionheart’, and Kunle Afolayan’s ‘Citation’, among others.

His remarkable work earned him numerous awards, including the 2017 Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Award for Best Art Director for his outstanding contributions to the film industry. Pat Nebo’s legacy in the Nigerian film industry will continue to inspire and be celebrated by many.
