BREAKING: PEPC strikes out evidence by 10 out of Obi/LP’s 13 witnesses

The Presidential Election Petition Court (PEPC) has rejected the testimony of ten of the thirteen witnesses called by Peter Obi and the Labour Party (LP) in support of their lawsuit challenging President Bola Tinubu’s election.

The court stated in its decision that the witnesses who were subpoenaed at the petitioners’ request had their written statements, which comprised their evidence, not filed along with or front-loaded with the petition within the 21-day period provided by the Election Act 2022.

The court also rejected the materials, including the report of analysis, provided by the petitioners through the impacted ten witnesses in the lead decision now being read by Judge Haruna Tsammani.

The court also held that some witnesses are not only persons with an interest in the outcome of the case, the reports they tendered were made during the pendency of the case.
