Elon Musk, the proprietor of the microblogging site X (formerly known as Twitter), has announced the upcoming addition of audio and video call features to the platform.
Musk revealed this information on Thursday through a tweet from his X handle. He mentioned that these features will be compatible with iOS, Android, Mac, and PC devices.
He stated, “Video & audio calls coming to X. Works on iOS, Android, Mac & PC. No phone number is needed.”
” X is the effective global address book. That set of factors is unique,” he assured.

Interestingly, Musk emphasized that these new features will not necessitate the use of a phone number to function.
Since assuming control of the social media platform in October 2022, Musk has implemented various changes, such as making the blue checkmark a subscription-only privilege, introducing community notes, enabling content monetization, and more notably, rebranding the company as ‘X.’
Furthermore, on Saturday, July 1, Musk temporarily imposed limits on the social media platform to address excessive data scraping and system manipulation activities.
