President Bola Tinubu has directed the Federal Executive Council (FEC) to implement measures aimed at revitalizing the economy and improving the quality of life for the citizens. The president issued this instruction to his cabinet members during the inaugural FEC meeting of his administration, held at the State House Council Chambers in the Presidential Villa, Abuja, on Monday, August 28.
Five ministers, namely Mohammed Idris (Information and National Orientation), Wale Edun (Finance and Coordinating Minister for the Economy), Ali Pate (Coordinating Minister of Health and Social Welfare), Abubakar Kyari (Agriculture and Food Security), and Doris Anite (Industry, Trade and Investment), along with the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, were in attendance.
Summarizing the discussions of the meeting, Edun stated that he presented an “Economic Roadmap,” highlighting the council’s consensus that the economy was not performing at its optimal level.
