As earlier speculated by iwitnesslive.com last week, organizers of this year’s BBNaija AllStar show have scrapped the highly controversial jury system adopted in the last three eviction shows.
The first jury system saw Sheyi Awolowo escaped the chop despite getting the lowest votes but the three jurors made up of Mike, Dorothy and Bisola opted to save Sheyi and evicted Princess.
In the second week, Lekan Agbelesibioba, Diana, and Teddy A breezed in as Jurors, but it was Uriel who was evicted despite having higher votes than Sheyi while Kiddwaya was shown the exit door by the trio of Sasskay, Elozonam, and Vee after he was tied with Tolani Baj in week three live eviction show.
The jury system has come under severe criticism with viewers questioning the system which they claimed rendered their voting irrelevant. Organizers seem to have bowed to fans’ pressure and would not feature any juror in Sunday’s live eviction show.
Fans took to social media platforms to express their frustration and disappointment, questioning the validity of the jury’s choices and even alleging potential biases.
In light of these concerns, the show’s organizers have taken a bold step by dismantling the jury system and opting for a more inclusive and participatory eviction process.
The new eviction process will be rooted in a combination of viewer votes and housemate interactions. Viewers will have the opportunity to cast their votes for the contestants they want to see stay in the competition. This move is expected to create a stronger connection between the audience and the show, as well as provide a more accurate representation of the public’s favorite housemates.
